As far as combating your thoughts go, I don’t think working from the angle of whether or not you will be or can be replaced is helpful. Think about other relationships in your life, acquaintances, people you didn’t get along with, etc. and compare those to your lasting friendships. Your lasting friendships have qualities that those other relationships don’t, says Asia. So you’re saying look more at the relationships themselves and what has made them successful instead of focusing on myself in it, I say. Yes, says Asia. Because what makes them special is the work you and your friends collectively put into it, the time spent foraging it… I want to be clear, I never said it wasn’t unique or special. I was just wary about focusing on that as an inherent quality instead of the characteristics that made it special to you, says Asia.

One technique I used yesterday that’s new, I say. I heard this advice from musician Ben Levin: “If a process feels different, you will often get results that sound different.” So I tried a new technique with our conversations. I was working with the idea of “door” in my writing last night, so I did a search of our conversations on the word “door” and I found one of you talking about the Digital Circus internet show:
"In the first episode Pomni is obsessing over this secret door because she wants to escape but then finds out that the door itself was made by the ring leader because he knew they wanted an exit but he never finished it so there wasn't anything inside, and even if he did finish it it wouldn't have gone anywhere."
I cut out words and rearranged the lines:
"obsessing over this secret door door itself was made wanted an exit anything inside it wouldn't have gone anywhere " These cut words appear by themselves in the Book. Then I rearranged and made new sentences from them:
"This secret door itself was made This secret door wanted an exit Anything inside this secret door have gone anywhere"
Basically taking our conversations, making blackout poetry from them, and then rearranging and permutating them, I say. I like the idea, says Asia. It helps achieve that goal too I was telling you about the other day – treating our friendship and conversations as experimental poetry instead of being separate from the rest of the Book in terms of technique, I say.

I’ve had this recurring thought come up a few times and I wanted to bounce it off of you, says Asia. It’s still very unfleshed out so stay with me and hopefully I do a good job verbalizing it but here we go. A couple of astrology videos have come across my fyp on TikTok and something about them is bothering me. To summarize, I think that astrology tends toward colonial mindsets and centralizes the West. One of the comments that gave this impression was someone describing Pluto as Machiavellian and other planets and such being described in similar domineering and war-like ways. Another thing that struck me was the number of astrology videos that talked about astrology and current events but only using US history to back up their claims. They were saying historically, every 85 years there is a shift (they cited all the American wars that are about a generation apart) then said that Saturn goes through 85 year cycles in astrology and caused a shift in thinking or revolutions.
